Badgers Clinch Second in WSFL With 64-35 Victory over Phoenix

Box Score  (PHOENIX, Ariz.) -- November 11, 2017 -- The 8th ranked Snow Badgers football team outscored the Phoenix Bears in a W.S.F.L. shootout 64-35 in the Arizona desert, Saturday.  Running back D'Arman Notoa rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns, while fellow back Jaylen Warren rumbled for 135 yards and a score in the victory.
 
Quarterback Shane Johnson completed 14 of 28 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns, connecting with Derek Wright, Jeremiah Beverly, and Anthony Turner.  Back-up quarterback Nick Robins finished the game 3-7 for 91 yards and a scoring pass to Sealun Erskine.
 
Defensively, safety Daymon Murray returned a fumble 90 yards for a touchdown and recorded an interception.  Defensive end Isaac Fotu finished the game with two sacks, while Troy Murray had a sack, Samuelu Elisaia recorded a pick, and  Weslee Moeai recovered a fumble.
 
The Badgers started off the game by scoring on their first two offensive drives with a touchdown pass from Shane Johnson to Derek Wright and then a 55 yard touchdown run from D'Arman Notoa to make it 14-0 Snow in the first quarter.  The Bears would come back and score two unanswered touchdowns to make it 14-14 in the second quarter.
 
Snow would answer with a 46-yard touchdown pass from Shane Johnson to Jeremiah Beverly, and then Johnson would hit Anthony Turner for a 37-yard scoring strike to make it 27-14 Snow at half-time.  The Badgers would increase their lead in the third quarter with an 18-yard touchdown run by Jaylen Warren, a 36-yard scoring run by D'Arman Notoa, and a 26-yard field goal by Kekoa Sasaoka to make it 44-14 heading into the final frame.
 
After a Phoenix College touchdown, Snow back-up quarterback Nick Robins hit Sealun Erskine for an 8-yard touchdown pass to put Snow up 51-21.  However, the Bears would score on back to back offensive possessions after converting an on-side kick to pull within 51-35.  The Badgers would finish off the game with a one-yard touchdown run by D'Arman Notoa and an 90-yard fumble recovery by Daymon Murray to win the game 64-35.
 
Snow moves to 9-1 with the victory and 6-1 in Western States Football League action and finish the season in 2nd place behind 7-0 Arizona Western.  The Badgers await a bowl invitation to determine if they play in the post season.
