EPHRAIM, Utah (Nov. 1, 2018) -- After a little re-arranging, the bracket has been set for the 2018 Region XVIII Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Badgers, who were originally scheduled to open tournament play against Utah State Eastern, will now play Salt Lake Community College on Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. The winner will take on Utah State Eastern in the semifinal at 4 p.m. that same day. The championship match will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. The top-seeded team, Southern Idaho, will host this year's tournament.
"Originally, we were looking at a five-team bracket and playing Utah State Eastern, but some things changed late Wednesday afternoon that now allows all six teams in our region to participate in the tournament," Snow College head coach Jeff Reynolds said. "It's been a little crazy the past week with all the various scenarios and what-if's, but ultimately it's a good thing for our region that all teams are able to participate. So, we've made a couple minor adjustments, and now we're on our way up to Twin Falls to compete for a region title."
The Badgers and Bruins split their regular-season match-ups this season, with both teams winning on their home courts in five sets.
On the other side of the bracket, Southern Nevada will take on Colorado Northwestern, with the winner advancing to the semifinals against Southern Idaho.
The College of Southern Idaho will host the 2018 Region 18 Volleyball Tournament Friday and Saturday. Admission prices will be $8 per adult per day. Students and Senior Citizens will get in for $6 per day, while students under 6 will get in for free. There is no reserve seating. Lower bowl chair-back seats are first-come, first-serve.
