Box Score 2 TWIN FALLS, Idaho (November 2, 2018) -- The eighth-ranked Snow College women's volleyball team advanced to the Region XVIII Women's Volleyball Championship match after defeating Salt Lake C.C., 3-0, followed by a 3-0 win over Utah State Eastern on Friday. As a result, the Badgers will take on No. 4 Southern Idaho in the Championship match for the second straight season. Match time is slated for 1 p.m. (MT) on Saturday.
In the first match of the day, Snow downed SLCC, 25-22, 25-22, 25-17, behind the offensive firepower of sophomore
Sai Collins. Collins racked up 10 kills on 22 attempts, hitting a punishing .318 for the match. Fellow sophomores
Stacey Hone and Madi Day each had eight kills in the victory. The Badgers -- one of the top blocking teams in the nation -- out blocked the Bruins 9.0 - 6.0. Freshman
Autumn Spafford led the Badgers with four blocks, while
Marcie Stapley and Hone added three blocks each. As a team, Snow hit. 287 for the match.
In the semifinal match against Utah State Eastern, Snow continued its hot hitting, posting a .320 attack percentage en route to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-18 victory. The Badgers were led by freshman
Ashlen Bell who racked up 12 kills on 21 swing with 0 errors. Bell hit .571 for the match and added four blocks. Stapley was credited with a team-high nine blocks, including two solos and seven assists. The Badgers out-blocked the Eagles, 12.0 - 2.0.
With the pair of victories on Friday, the Badgers are now 26-4 on the season.
