EPHRAIM, Utah (Feb. 21, 2019) -- The Snow College men's basketball defeated No. 11 Southern Idaho on Thursday, 83-72, in Ephraim to win the regular-season Scenic West Athletic Conference title, and earn the top seed for the upcoming conference championship tournament. The win improved the Badgers' record to 24-6 overall and 9-3 in conference play. It is the second time in the past three years Snow College has won the regular-season conference championship.
The Badgers got off to a slow start, trailing the Golden Eagles by 13 points with 9:28 remaining in the first half. All totaled, CSI held the lead for 16:11 minutes of the first half before the Badgers started draining three-pointers and took the lead at the end of the first half. Snow held the lead, 40-38, at halftime and never looked back. In the second half, the Badgers held the lead and worked up to a 14-point lead with 2:14 remaining in the game.
Sophomore guard
Logan Hokanson led the Badgers with a game-high 27 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Hokanson also drained 6-of-10 shots from three-point range. Sophomore
Nick Huston picked up 21 points in the victory, including six three-pointers. Huston was also 6-of-8 from the free-throw line and was credited with eight rebounds. Sophomore
Stockton Shorts picked up 19 points, three assists one block and eight rebounds.
