EPHRAIM, Utah (January 9, 2020) -- The Snow College men's basketball team got off to a winning start in Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Thursday, earning a 15-point victory over Utah State Eastern in front of a home crowd at the Horne Activity Center.
The Eagles jumped out to a six-point lead early in the first half, but the Badgers came rolling back to take a 35-27 lead at the half. Despite shooting only 32 percent in the second half, the Badgers took advantage of a number of USUE turnovers and grabbed a 17-point lead with 2:07 remaining the game. The Badgers shot 41.2 percent for the game, including 7-of-29 from three-point range. Snow scored 26 points off USUE turnovers and was credited with 26 points in the paint.

Brayden Johnson led the Badgers with 16 points on the night, inclduing a team high four three-pointers. Freshman

Brantzen Blackner each had double-digits for Snow, including 13 points for Farrer and 10 points for Blackner. Farrer and freshman teammate
Jonah Roth combined for 14 rebounds, with both collecting seven boards each.
Now 10-9 on the season, and 1-0 in conference action, the Badgers will play host to Salt Lake Community College on Saturday in Ephraim. Game time is set for 5 p.m. The Bruines are 16-4 on the season and are coming of back-to-back Scenic West Conference victories, including a 109-83 win over Colorado Northwestern and an 85-71 win over Southern Idaho.
