PRICE, Utah (March 27, 2021) -- Utah State Eastern jumped out to a 24-12 lead in the first quarter, and increased its lead to 39-23 by halftime to outlast Snow College on Saturday, 65-55. Despite outscoring USUE, 16-10, and making a strong push in the fourth quarter, the Lady Badgers were unable to overcome the Lady Eagles' lead.
With the loss, the Lady Badgers drop to 15-6 on the season and 10-5 in Scenic West Athletic Conference action. The Lady Eagles have two make-up games this week. If they win both of those games (vs. Southern Nevada) they will finish as the No. 3 seed for the upcoming region tournament. If they should drop one of those games, the Lady Badgers would then finish as the No. 3 seed.Â
Freshman
Sarah Lange led Snow College with 17 points on Saturday, dropping 7-of-11 shots from the field and three-of-seven from the free-throw line.
Japrix Weaver added 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting. Weaver, along with
Reagan Anderson, were each credited with eight rebounds.
Ashlee Edwards totaled 10 points for Snow.Â
The Lady Badgers will await the results of the Utah State Eastern - Southern Nevada series this week in preparation for the Region 18 Women's Basketball Tournament in Richfield, Utah on April 8-10, 2021.Â
