Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah (May 12, 2021) -- Freshman Zachary Lifferth scored his second goal of the game in the first minute of overtime to help lead the fourth-ranked Badgers to a 3-2 win over Utah State Eastern. With the win, the Badgers improve to 9-1-1 overall on the season and 7-1-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings, and are just one game behind Salt Lake C.C. for the conference lead. Both teams have one game remaining. In order for the Badgers to win a share of the conference championship, Snow College will need to defeat Colorado Northwestern on Friday and SLCC will need to lose at Truckee Meadows. 

As the reigning Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week, Lifferth score the game's first goal just 4:20 into the contest. Gustavo Oliveira made it 2-0 on a penalty kick at the 13:33 mark. The Eagles would come out after halftime and even things up after scoring just over five minutes into the second half, and again at the 75:18 mark to tie things up and force an overtime period. Lifferth and company made short work of the extra period when he scored just :57 seconds into overtime. 

Freshman goal keeper Zachary Dean was credited with two saves during the game. 

The Badgers will next play host to Colorado Northwestern on Friday. Game time is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the City Park in Ephraim.
