Box Score The Snow College Badgers picked up two wins this past week and improve to 4-3 in conference play after beating the College of Southern Nevada 86-72 and in a non-conference game 117-67 over RSL Academy.
The Badgers scored 46 of their 86 points in the paint and shot 50% from the field on their way to a 22 point halftime lead. Snow College held the Coyotes to 17% shooting from the field in the first half.
"It's good we had a a lead because they are a really good team," said Head Coach Rob Nielson. "They showed in the second half how explosive they can be."
The Coyotes came storming back in the second half behind 22 second half points by Darren Jones. The Badgers never relinquished their lead in the second half, but it did get down to just four points.
Drake Allen scored on a fast break and was fouled then converted on the three-point play to extend the lead back to seven late in the second half.
Hagen Wright led Snow College with 27 points,
Chase Potter had 19 points and nine rebounds and
Clayton Southwick ended with 16 points and six rebounds.
"We have to win at home during this stretch because we finish with six straight games on the road," said Nielson. "We finish with three games in three nights and that's the same format as the tournament. It'll be good for us to get that experience."
Saturday the Badgers hosted RSL Academy and led from start to finish with six players getting in double figure scoring. Wright and
Wyatt Lowell each had 18 points,
Rich Stucki came off the bench to score 14, Allen finished with 13 points,
Derek Marlowe also came off the bench to add 12 and Southwick had 12. The bench score 50 points in the win while shooting 66% from the field.
Snow College will be on the road on Thursday to face USU-E and on Saturday they host the College of Southern Idaho at 3pm in the Horne Activity Center.
