Badgers Defeat TMCC to Earn Sixth Straight Victory

Reining Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week Skye Kennedy led the charge for the Badgers as they defeated Truckee Meadows Community College 3-1 Saturday in Ephraim.

Candela Gonzalez got the scoring started with a goal in the sixth minute.  Off a free kick from nearly 30 yards out, she went top shelf and found the back of the net over the outstretched arms of the keeper to give the Badgers an early 1-0 lead.

Kennedy gave the Badgers a 2-0 lead in the 53rd minute off a corner kick.  Gonzalez put the ball in play from the left corner and Kennedy, using her heel, horse kicked the ball past the keeper.
Kennedy struck again a few minutes later.  When a TMCC player was unable to control a pass, she took the ball and fired from 30 yards out and place the ball in the top left corner of the goal to give Snow College a 3-0 lead.

The Lizards would score a goal in the 79th minute, but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the deficit and Snow College would cruise to a 3-1 victory.  With the win, the Badgers have now won six games in a row and own a 9-1-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 record withing the SWAC.

They are currently in second place in the conference trailing only Salt Lake Community College.  The Badgers will play their final road game of the season before playing their final three games of the regular season at home.

They will travel to Rangely, Colorado to take on Colorado Northwestern Community College Thursday at 1:00 p.m. before a showdown with SLCC at home Saturday at 11:00 a.m.  For additional information, visit snowbadgers.com.
