The Snow College women's volleyball team defeated the College of Southern Nevada Saturday in Las Vegas.
The Badgers were coming off a victory against CSN on Monday and entered Saturday's affair hoping to double dip on their previous success. They would do just that as they swept away the Coyotes in three sets to earn the victory.
Snow College jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first set. The Badgers continued their dominance and closed out the first set winning 25-14.
Set two held much of the same for the Badgers as they used and 8-1 run midway through the set to take a 14-8 advantage. The Coyotes would cut into the lead and bring the score to 18-14 before the Badgers won seven of the last nine points to win set two 25-16.
CSN would not go down without a fight and led 13-9 to begin the third set and maintained the lead at 19-15 later in the set. The Badgers countered by going on a 10-3 run to finish off the set and win 25-22 to earn the sweep.
Bailey Rasmussen,
Kesa Makasini, and Ashlynn Olsen each finished with 10 kills.
Meg Carter handed out 31 assists to aid in the victory for the Badgers.
The Badgers have won three matches in a row since their two-game skid at the end of September. They now own an overall record of 14-3 and 4-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The No. 7 Badgers will play their final two road matches of the season Friday and Saturday. Friday's match will be a rematch against the No. 1 ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruins who Snow College lost 3-1 to at home September 24. That matchup is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center in Taylorsville, Utah.
Then the Badgers will square off with the College of Southern Idaho Saturday at 1:00 p.m. inside the CSI Gymnasium. For video and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
