The Snow College women's volleyball team defeated the College of Southern Nevada in a 3-0 sweep Monday in Ephraim. With the win, the Badgers improved to 13-3 overall on the season and 3-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Coyotes opened the match with an 8-6 lead before the Badgers went on an 8-1 run to take a 14-9 lead. CSN went on a 9-1 run of its own to turn the tables. Snow College won 10 of the final 13 points to win the set 25-21.
It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Badgers in the second set. They used a 6-1 run midway through the set to take a 17-10 lead. Snow College wouldn't look back and would cruise to a 25-16 lead.
Snow College flexed its muscles in the third set. CSN had the Badgers on their heels as it jumped out to an 20-15 lead. With their backs against the walls, the Badgers went on a 10-2 run to steal away the third set giving them a 3-0 sweep.
Tricia Tua'one led the way offensively with nine kills.
Bailey Rasmussen and
Kesa Makasini each had eight kills in the win.
Corinne Taysom finished with 16 assists while
Meg Carter provided 15 assists to aid in the victory.
The Badgers and the Coyotes will have a rematch Saturday in Henderson. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. MST inside the Coyote Center. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
