Badgers Host Jump Start, No. 2 FCCS at Snow College Classic

OPENING TIP:  After beginning the season with three victories, the Snow College men's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways as it welcomes Jump Start Academy and Florida Southwestern State College to town for a pair of games in the Snow College Classic this weekend.

The Badgers recorded three convincing victories over Real Salt Lake Academy (128-71), Impact Academy (83-56), and Utah Peaks Prep (117-43) last week.  This season marks the second year in a row the Badgers have gotten out to a 3-0 start to the year.  Snow College started 4-0 last season before losing to FSSC, which was their best start to a season since 2018-19 when they started 13-0.

With the victories, Snow College has one of the top offenses in the country averaging just under 110 points per game, which is good for tenth in the nation. The Badgers fall just outside the top ten in defense allowing just 56.7 points per game, which lands them at 14th overall.

The Badgers will take on the Snow Foxes from Jump Start Academy Friday at 7:00 p.m. followed by a showdown with No. 2 FSSC Saturday at 7:00 p.m.  Both games will be played inside the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim.  For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.

HISTORY WITH JUMP START:  The Badgers have only faced the Snow Foxes once before.  Snow College earned a 117-70 victory Nov. 12 last season.  The Badgers used a 65-point second half to pull away and claim the 47-point victory.

HISTORY WITH FSSC:  The Badgers have played two games against the Buccaneers in the past with each side winning once.  Snow College won the first meeting between the two in an 81-79 overtime victory Nov. 22, 2019.  The Buccaneers got the better of the Badgers when the two teams met again Nov. 19, 2021.  FSSC won that meeting 67-53.

The Buccaneers are currently ranked as the No. 2 team in the country by the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Rankings.  They defeated St. Petersburg College 66-63 in their opening game of the season last Saturday.  FSSC will play Utah State University Eastern Friday as part of the Snow Classic.
