The Snow College women's basketball team suffered a 75-54 defeat against Utah State University Eastern Wednesday in Price.  The Badgers fall to 6-8 overall and 3-2 within Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
 
The Badgers came into the matchup with the Eagles having won four out of their last five games with the only loss coming against No. 10 Salt Lake Community College.  They defeated Community Christian College 72-66 in their most recent matchup last Saturday.
 
Snow College trailed by as many as seven points in the first quarter but would eventually go into the second quarter trailing by one.  It was a back-and-forth second quarter that saw the Badgers take a brief three-point lead before the Eagles went on a 7-0 run and would take a 36-31 lead into the halftime break.
 
The Badgers struggled offensively in the second half shooting just 27 percent from the field on 9-33 shooting.  Conversely, the Eagle's offense began to increase its intensity and was able to force the Badgers into fouling.  USUE went to the free-throw line 19 times in the second half after not shooting one foul shot in the first half.  The Eagles went 15-19 in those free-throw attempts. 
 
USUE extended its lead during the third quarter and took a 12-point lead into the fourth where it used an 11-2 run over the final five minutes to claim the 75-54 victory.
 
Samiana Suguturaga led all scorers with her fifth 20-point game of the season finishing with exactly 20 points.  Enid Vaifanua and Katie trail each finished with eight points in the loss.
 
The Badgers will now turn their attention to Colorado Northwestern Community College.  Snow College will welcome in the Spartans Friday with tipoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. inside the Horne Activity Center.  For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
