The Snow College men's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a split against Utah State University Eastern and Colorado Northwestern Community College over the weekend. The Badgers suffered a 2-1 loss against the Eagles before earning a 5-0 victory over the Spartans.
Snow College entered the weekend off a pair of impressive victories. The Badgers defeated Pacific Northwest Christian College 21-0 and Truckee Meadows Community College 4-2.
Mucioko Banza got the scoring started for the Badgers in the 15
th minute giving them a 1-0 lead. The lead was short-lived as the Eagles responded with a goal in the 28
th minute. The score remained tied at one going into the halftime break.
As the final minutes waned with the score tied at one, USUE scored a goal in the 88
th minute to take the lead and earn the 2-1 win.
The Badgers took on CNCC two days later in the final match of the regular season. They recorded their fifth shutout victory of the season with a 5-0 result.
Jack Cook scored the first goal of the game in the 22
nd minute off an assist from
Richard Henry. Cook provided the assists for
Luis Pantoja a few minutes later as the Badgers took a 2-0 lead, which they would take into halftime.
The Badgers scored three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.
Pablo Campo scored in the 57
thminute to extend the lead.
Richard Henry scored a pair of goals in the 67
th and 68
th minutes, the latter off an assist from Hiroki Okada, and the Badgers claimed the 5-0 victory.
Despite the victory, the Badgers find themselves on the outside looking in on the Region 18 Tournament. With an overall record of 7-6-1 and a conference record of 5-6-1, Snow College finishes the season fifth within the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings, one spot short of qualifying for the Conference Tournament.
