Women's Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season With Weekend Split

The Snow College women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a heartbreaking loss against Utah State University Eastern in the final minutes. Then came a wonderful regular season ending win against Colorado Northwestern Community College.

The Eagles took the lead at the beginning of the game, with Abigail Wiggins scoring in the 17th minute. Almost immediately after the half, the Badgers responded with a goal in the 46th minute from Megan Hanson

Once again, the Eagles respond with another goal from Kalista Victoria in the 52nd minute. As the rest of the half continued to move on, the Badgers could not get another goal, which concluded the game 2-1.

With the Badgers taking on the Spartans, the game was tied 0-0 at the first-half break. Throughout almost all of the second half, there was still no score from either team.  Finally, in the 85th minute, with a beautiful assist from Ali Spencer to Madelyn McQueen, the Badgers scored the game-winning goal. The Badgers were able to play tough defense for the remaining five minutes to seal the 1-0 win.

The Badgers will now enter the Region 18 Tournament as the three seed.  They will be pitted against the two-seed Eagles in the first round.  Salt Lake Community College won the regular-season conference title and will host the Region 18 Tournament. The Badgers are 0-1-1 against USUE this season, as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Ephraim Sept. 21 in their first meeting. For more information, visit snowbadgers.com
