The Snow College women's volleyball team earned a three-set sweep against the College of Southern Nevada Saturday in Ephraim. With the win, the Badgers improve to 9-13 overall and 2-3 within Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Snow College entered the weekend following a split of the two matches played last weekend. The Badgers dropped a match to No. 12 Utah State University Eastern followed by a three-set sweep against Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday.
The Badgers got off to a good start taking an 8-2 advantage in the first set. The Coyotes rallied and cut the lead down to two before the Badgers went on an 8-4 run to take back control. They would end up taking the set 25-20 despite a late push from CSN.
The second set was the most convincing for the Badgers as they claimed a 25-11 win. They jumped out to a modest 9-4 lead before exploding for a 13-3 run to take control and run away with set two.
It was a similar story in set three as Snow College jumped out to a 9-8 lead. The Badgers proceeded to win 16 of the next 21 points to win the set, 25-13, and the match, 3-0.
Liv Marshall led the way for the Badgers as she recorded 12 kills and just two errors throughout the match.
Kinley Kerbs had 16 assists while
Corinne Taysom had 15.
Grace Holley paced the Badgers with 12 digs to aid in the victory.
Snow College will play its final two home matches of the season against No. 3 Salt Lake Community College and No. 10 College of Southern Idaho. They'll take on the Bruins Thursday at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Golden Eagles Saturday at 1:00 p.m. inside the Horne Activity Center.
