Women's Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season Play with Victory Over CSI

The Snow College women's soccer team split the final weekend match with a tie and a victory. The No. 5 Badgers drew with Truckee Meadows Community College 1-1 and defeated the College of Southern Idaho 4-0.

The Badgers were coming off a weekend sweep after defeating both North Idaho College (2-0) and Pacific Northwest Christian College (13-0). 

The Badgers finished the regular season with an overall 14-1-2 record and a 11-1-2 conference record. 

Madi Thurgood scored the lone goal for the Badgers on an assist from Emily Morrill. The Lizards then knotted the game at one. 

The game would end at a one-one tie for the second draw of the Badger's season. The other draw was to Utah State University Eastern Oct. 5 with a final of 2-2.

The Badgers took five shots with four on goal throughout the match. The Lizards took four shots on goal as well, with three turned away by Hayley Ogden.

Following the match against the Lizards, the Badgers then traveled to Twin Falls, Idaho to take on CSI. The Badgers defeated the Golden Eagles 3-0 in the first matchup this season.

Bailee Ballard opened the scoring against the Golden Eagles in the 18th minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Ballard's goal would be the lone goal of the first half.

Thurgood reopened the scoring in the 65th minute after netting a pass from Kristyn Narvaez. Soon after, Ali Spencer extended the lead to three after capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 69th minute. 

Ally Johnson scored the final regular season goal for the Badgers in the 72nd minute on an assist from Thurgood. The Badgers maintained the 4-0 lead to claim 14th victory of the season. 

The Badgers outshot the Golden Eagles 27-7 during the 90 minutes. 17 of the Badgers shots were on goal and limited CSI to two shots on goal. Ogden tallied two saves to push her season total to 31.

Snow College will enter the Region 18 tournament as the second seed and will face the three seed NIC Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The other semi-final match is between 1-seed Salt Lake Community College and 4-seed USUE at 8 a.m. The winner of the Badgers and Cardinals will face the winner of the Bruins and Eagles Saturday at 11:00 a.m. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
