The Snow College women's soccer team added two victories to its record with wins over North Idaho College and Pacific Northwest Christian College. The No. 13 Badgers defeated the Cardinals 4-0 and the Gladiators 14-0.
Snow College entered the matches with a 5-1 overall record for the season. The Badgers were coming off of a 4-1 victory over No. 19 Colorado Northwestern Community College after dropping the match to No. 9 Salt Lake Community College, 2-0 last weekend.
Thursday's matchup started off slow with no scoring from either team through the first half. Snow College tallied a total of 17 shots while limiting NIC to one in the opening 45 minutes..
Shortly after the second half began Snow College was awarded a penalty shot after being fouled inside the 18-yard box. Ali Spencer took advantage of the penalty shot and gave the Badgers the lead in the 51st minute.
Daisha Wagner scored off a pass from Emily Morrill in the 74th minute for the second Snow College goal. Ally Jonson found the back of the net in the 81st minute assisted by Brooklyn Bradley, extending the lead. Paige Bayles scored in the final minute to finish the game with a 4-0 victory.
The Badgers took 17 more shots in the second, tallying a total of 34 shots with 19 ending up on frame. Snow College limited NIC to two total shots in the game, neither of them on goal.
The second victory of the weekend came with a 14-0 shutout over the Gladiators of PNCC. Saturday's matchup was the third time the Badgers have faced the Gladiators in program history with the Badgers winning both previous games.
The Badgers got off to a hot start with Liv Harding scoring a goal in just 28 seconds assisted by Bailee Ballard.Â
The Badgers then scored four goals in four consecutive minutes. Megan Hanson scored in the 6th minute, Ballard in the 7th minute, Spencer in the 8th minute, and Harding in the 9th minute with an assist from Wagner.
Ellie Cook extended the lead with a goal in the 16th minute assisted by Johnson. Johnson then converted on a pass by Tyler Eastman in the 19th minute. Eastman scored the final first-half goal in the 31st minute on an assist by Annika Snow and the Badgers took an 8-0 lead into the break.
The Badgers scored their first goal of the second half in the 67th minute by Cook assisted by Eastman. Snow College then scored five goals in the final six minutes of the match. Hadley Leonard scored in the 84th minute assisted by Cook.
Bri Kalista scored a pair of goals in the 84th and 86th minutes, respectively. The second of which came on a pass from Cook.
Rylee Everton netted a goal in the 88th minute on an assist by Emily Noorda. The final Badger goal came from Madi Thurgood on a pass from Bayles.
The Badgers took a total of 63 shots with 40 of them being on frame. The PNCC goalkeeper recorded 26 saves throughout the match. Snow College allowed zero shots against PNCC shutting the offense down.
Snow College will host Truckee Meadows Community College Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Snow College Soccer Complex.
