Women's Soccer Sweeps Weekend Behind Harding's Record Day

The Snow College women's soccer team claimed two more shutout victories over Truckee Meadows Community College and the College of Southern Idaho. The No. 13 Badgers defeated the Lizards 8-0 and the Golden Eagles 3-0.

The Badgers entered the weekend off of two victories over North Idaho College (4-0) and Pacific Northwest Christian College (14-0). The Badgers only allowed two shots last weekend with both of them coming from NIC.

Liv Harding got the ball rolling for the Badgers in the 2nd minute after taking the ball off of the Lizard goalkeeper's foot to score. Harding scored again in the 19th minute assisted by Ali Spencer.

The Badgers quickly scored again with a goal from Megan Hanson on another assist from Spencer. Harding netted her third and fourth goals in the 23rd and 26th minute.  The first of which was assisted by Bailee Ballard and Daisha Wagner.  The second of which was unassisted.

The Badgers entered the half with a 5-0 lead showing no signs of slowing down. Ballard extended the lead in the 50th minute on a pass from Wagner. The Badgers were then fouled in the 18-yard box for a penalty kick. Spencer took advantage and scored a goal in the 52nd minute.

Harding scored her fifth and final goal of the match in the 57th minute. This was the first time a Badger has scored five goals in a single game since Skye Kennedy in 2022 matching the program record for goals in a game. Harding is now tied for fourth in the nation in goals scored with 14.

Following the record-setting victory, the Badgers faced off against CSI for the first time in program history. This is the first season in soccer for the Golden Eagles.

The Badgers took the lead with the only first-half goal in the 11th minute from Wagner assisted by Emily Morrill. The Badgers took nine shots while limiting the Golden Eagles to five in the first half.

Morrill extended the Badger lead in the 60th minute on an assist from Ballard. Ballad then scored her own goal in the 67th minute assisted by Wagner and Harding.

Hayley Ogden turned away two shots against the Lizards and four against the Golden Eagles. Ogden now has 17 saves on the season.

The Badgers will continue conference play Saturday Oct. 5 against Utah State University Eastern. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Snow College Soccer Complex in Ephraim, Utah. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
