The No. 16 Snow College Women's Soccer team earned a 4-2 victory over Utah State University Eastern in the first Scenic West Athletic Conference game of the season.
The Badgers started the scoring in the 5th minute on a Bailee Ballard shot assisted by Megan Hanson. Ballard extended the lead in the 22nd minute from an Emily Morrill pass, giving the team a 2-0 advantage.
The Eagles scored in the 44th minute to finish the half with a 2-1 Badger lead. USUE scored again in the 50th minute to tie up the game, 2-2.Â
Daisha Wagner scored in the 73rd minute assisted by Morrill to move the Badgers back into the lead. A goal from Annika Snow on a pass from Mirabel Shellabarger in the 78th minute once again extended the Badgers' lead to two.
Hayley Ogden allowed two goals while also turning away two shots on goal. Ogden now has 10 saves in 13 shots on goal for the season.
The Badgers out shot the Eagles 14-11 throughout the game with nine shots on goal, while allowing just four shots on goal. The Badgers have scored 20 goals on the season while only surrendering three goals.
The Badgers now hold a 4-0-0 overall record with a 1-0-0 SWAC record. Snow College will continue conference play against No. 6 Salt Lake Community College Thursday at 1 p.m. in Taylorsville. For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.
