Jack Larter of the Snow College men's soccer team has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, the Conference announced Thursday at the Region 18 Tournament.
 
Larter, who is in his third season as head of the program, claims the award after leading the Badgers to their first SWAC Championship in program history and the number one seed in the Region 18 Tournament.
 
Snow College finished the regular season with a 13-4 record, including a perfect 9-0 mark at home. The Badgers have now won at least 13 games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2017-18, when they won a combined 30 games between the two seasons.
 
The Badgers went 11-3 in conference play to claim the SWAC Championship. It's the most wins in program history and the first time the Badgers have ever won more than nine games in conference play.
 
Snow College earned two victories over ranked teams during the season. The Badgers defeated No. 18 Western Nebraska Community College 3-1 in the season's opening weekend. They then earned a 2-1 victory over No. 20 Utah State University Eastern Oct. 3 in Price.
 
Under Larter's guidance, the Badgers have qualified for the Region 18 Tournament in each of the previous two seasons. Last year, the Badgers defeated No. 18 North Idaho College 1-0 before securing a 2-1 win against No. 1 Salt Lake Community College in the Region 18 Title Game. It was the fourth Region Championship in program history.
 
Over his three seasons with the team, Larter has compiled a 34-14-3 overall record and a 25-12-3 mark in conference play. He now moves into second place on the all-time wins list behind Nuno Gourgel.
 
Snow College earned a 4-1 victory against Utah State University Eastern Thursday in the first round of the Region 18 Tournament and will face SLCC in the Championship Game Saturday at 2:00 p.m. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
