Ryan Henry of the Snow College men's soccer team has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the Conference announced Tuesday.
Â
The announcement of the award comes on the heels of the Badgers' 2-1 victory against No. 20 Utah State University Eastern last weekend in Price. The win was the Badgers' second against a ranked team during the season.
Â
Henry scored the game-winner for the Badgers against the Eagles as the second-half clock waned. A corner kick was sent in, which rattled around inside the 18-yard box. Henry was able to corral the ball amidst the chaos and slam the ball into the back of the net to give Snow College a 2-1 lead with just 75 seconds to play.
Â
The goal was Henry's first goal of the season. He has taken 14 total shots this year, including seven shots on goal. Henry has played in all 11 games, including 10 starts, for the Badgers this season.
Â
For his career, Henry, a sophomore from Soham, England, has played in all but one game during his two seasons as a Badger. He has scored two goals and recorded five assists during that time.
Â
Snow College will look to win its third straight game against Colorado Northwestern Community College Thursday in Rangely, Colorado. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
