Head Coach
Michael Daniel of the Snow College volleyball team has been named the Rocky Mountain B District Coach of the Year, which was announced Wednesday.
Â
Daniel claims the award after leading the Badgers back to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time since the 2021 season. This came following consecutive appearances in both the Region 18 Championship and the Rocky Mountain B District Championship.
Â
Snow College entered the 2025 season after a 16-10 overall record in 2024. Â During the 2024 campaign, the Badgers won five of their last six to finish second in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings and earn a berth in the Region 18 Tournament.
Â
After defeating No. 12 Salt Lake Community College in the first round, the Badgers suffered a narrow 3-2 loss against No. 8 Utah State University Eastern in the Championship match. Snow College earned the right to participate in the Rocky Mountain B District Championship against Eastern Arizona College but was ultimately defeated in four sets.
Â
The Badgers finished the 2025 regular season with a 12-13 record and a 6-4 record within conference play. They defeated No. 16 College of Southern Idaho in the first round of the Region 18 Tournament but finished as the runners-up to SLCC.
Â
Snow College went on to face No. 10 EAC in the District Championship for the second season in a row. This time, the Badgers were victorious as they defeated the Gila Monsters 3-2 in Thatcher, Arizona, to secure their place in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Â
The Badgers will enter the tournament with a 14-14 record this season. The last time the Badgers were in the tournament was during the 2021 season, where they won a pair of games – one in the championship bracket and one in the consolation bracket – to finish seventh overall.
Â
Daniel, who is in his fifth season at the head of the program, owns an 85-57 overall record and a 24-16 mark within conference play. His teams have qualified for the Region 18 Tournament in four of his five seasons, including winning the championship in 2021.
Â
The Badgers will take on the fifth-seeded Barton Community College in the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
