Iowa Central Faces Snow College in Game One Bowl

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Game One Bowl has announced that the Iowa Central Tritons (7-4, 1-1) and the Snow College Badgers (6-4) will compete in the 48th edition of the 2025 event. The top 15 matchup is set for Sunday, Dec. 7, with kickoff scheduled for noon at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The Tritons, ranked No. 10 in the NJCAA poll, and Badgers, coming in at No. 14, are familiar foes in the Game One Bowl, having met in the 2023 edition. In that matchup, Iowa Central used an explosive offensive performance to roll to a 44-9 win to close out its season.

Snow, located in Ephraim, Utah, will make its third appearance in the Game One Bowl and seeks its first win in the event. The Badgers are 0-2 all-time, including a narrow 19-17 loss to Iowa Western in a top-10 showdown in their first trip back in 2018. With another talented roster, Snow will look to capitalize on its third opportunity.

Iowa Central will compete in the Game One Bowl for the 29th time and owns a 20-9 all-time record. This marks the Tritons' seventh straight season ending with an appearance. They last played in the contest in 2024, defeating North Dakota State College of Science 49-6.

This season, Iowa Central has recorded marquee wins against No. 1 (DIII) DuPage and No. 14 Garden City and enters with one of the NJCAA's top offenses at 38.6 points per game. Quarterback Demarcus Creecy has been a true dual threat, throwing for 1,045 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding 654 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

Defensively, the Tritons rank in the NJCAA top 15, allowing 20.5 points per game. Linebacker Taylor Schaefer leads the unit with 97 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and five sacks. Iowa Central also boasts a major special teams weapon in return man Marellus Chandler, who has housed two kickoffs for touchdowns on just 13 attempts.

The Badgers arrive back to Central Iowa with a strong résumé of its own, highlighted by a 55-38 win over No. 15 Lackawanna. The Badgers average 40.1 points per game and rank top 10 nationally in scoring defense, allowing only 18.9 points per game.

Running back Seth Rigtrup has been the focal point of the Snow offense, totaling 688 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. He has also added 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the Badgers feature impact players such as Marrio Williams Jr., who has recorded 63 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Defensive back Jayden Robertson has been a ballhawk with three interceptions and nine pass breakups.

With two accomplished programs set to collide, this year's Game One Bowl is poised to deliver a competitive and entertaining matchup. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. ahead of the noon kickoff. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
