McCaden Adams of the Snow College men's basketball team has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the Conference announced Monday.

Adams claims the award following a pair of strong performances to open the season for the defending West District Champions. The Badgers earned a 95-89 victory against Western Nebraska Community College Friday before securing an 89-73 win against Casper College the following day.

Adams shined on opening night against the Cougars as he recorded a game-high 28 points on 8-14/5-8 shooting from the field. He fell one rebound short of a double-double with nine while finishing with two steals.

The following night, Adams put in 14 points on 6-14 shooting from the field. He dished five assists, grabbed three rebounds, and had two steals against the Thunderbirds. He's averaging a team-high 21.0 points per game through the first two games of the season.

For his career, Adams, a sophomore from Pleasant Grove, Utah, averages 12.0 points per game on 48 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from long range. He has scored in double figures in eight of his previous nine games, dating back to last season.

Snow College will travel to Price to participate in the Region 1/Region 18 Challenge, where it will take on No. 15 Eastern Arizona College Friday at 5:00 p.m., before squaring off with Arizona Western Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be played inside the Bunnell-Dmitrich Athletic Center.
