Men's Basketball Faces No. 15 EAC, AWC at Region 1/Region 18 Challenge

GAME NOTES:
The Snow College men's basketball team will travel to Price, Utah, and face a pair of opponents at the Region 1/Region 18 Challenge this weekend. They'll take on No. 15 Eastern Arizona College Friday at 5:00 p.m. before a meeting with Arizona Western College Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The Badgers opened up the season at the Cougar Classic, where they collected a pair of victories against Western Nebraska Community College, 95-89, and Casper College, 89-73.

Snow College shot over 50 percent from the field as a team in both games of the Cougar Classic. The Badgers shot 50 percent or better in 20 games last season and were undefeated in those games. The Badgers are 44-1 under coach May when shooting 50 percent or better from the field.

McCaden Adams wasted no time in recording a career high in points as he put in 28 on 8-14/5-8 shooting. It is the fifth time in his career as a Badgers he has score 20 points or more in a game after doing so four times as a freshman.

Brock McClure had a spectacular debut in orange and blue as he recorded a 26-point, 11-rebound double-double against WNCC. He did wo while shooting 10-14 from the field and 4-6 from beyond the arc.

EAC will enter Friday's rematch of last year's West District Championship with a 1-1 overall record. They defeated Gillette College to start the season before suffering a 76-73 loss to No. 18 Barton Community College last Saturday.

The Badgers have never lost to the Gila Monsters in four all-time meetings, including last year's 94-85 victory in the West District Championship.

AWC is 2-1 entering the tournament after defeating Gillette College and Colorado Northwestern Community College. The Matadors also lost to No.18 BCC to begin the season.

The Badgers are 3-5 all time against AWC but have won three of their last four against the Matadors, including a 94-70 victory last season in Thatcher.

BADGERS ON THE AIR: All Snow College home games this season will be broadcast by SnowTV. They will air on the Scenic West Digital Network. All home games and select road games will also be simulcast on the radio on KMTI 650 AM.

Tanner Wilkinson will be providing the play-by-play for all games broadcast by SnowTV this season. He is entering his first year as the 'Voice of the Badgers' after taking over for Gary Chidester, who retired over the summer.

All broadcasts will begin with a pregame show approximately 20 minutes before tipoff and will include exclusive coverage of the game and an interview with head coach Andrew May. Post-game shows will begin immediately following the conclusion of the game and will last approximately 10 minutes.

Live stats will be provided for all home games as well as a number of road games during the season. The link to the video and audio streams, as well as live stats, will always be provided at snowbadgers.com.

UP NEXT: Snow College will play its home opener to begin a three-game home stretch against Yavapai College Monday inside the Horne Activity Center.

The Roughriders currently own a 2-1 overall record after defeating Colorado Northwestern Community College and New Mexico Military Institute. Their lone loss came against No. 17 College of Southern Idaho to begin the season. The Badgers are 4-0 against Yavapai all time. They defeated the Roughriders 80-64 last season in Prescott, Arizona. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Ephraim. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
