Brock McClure of the Snow College men's basketball team has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the Conference announced Monday. This is the second time this season he has won the award.
 
McClure takes home the weekly award after helping the Badgers earn a pair of victories at the Las Vegas Tarkanian Classic last week. Snow College defeated McCook Community College 96-91 before earning a victory against Gillette College 88-54.
 
McClure recorded 28 points and grabbed six rebounds on 10-19 shooting from the field and 3-9 from beyond the arc against the Indians. He followed that up with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double against Gillette.
 
For the season, McClure, a sophomore from Lumberton, Texas is averaging 15.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. His 8.6 rebounds per game leads the conference and is tied for 34^th most in the nation.
 
He has scored in double figures in 12 of the Badgers' 15 games this season, including four games with 20 points or more. He has recorded seven double-doubles throughout the year, which leads the team.
 
Snow College, which finished undefeated in non-conference play for the first time ever, will enter SWAC play Saturday Jan. 3 against Colorado Northwestern Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim.
