The Snow College men's wrestling team took 16
th place at the NJCAA National Tournament over the weekend. Two Badgers were named All-Americans, including
Caleb Marx and
Chandler Thompson.

Snow College entered the tournament following the Region 18 tournament, where the Badgers finished in 3
rd place. Marx claimed the Region 18 Title in the 165-pound division while four other Badgers finished in second place. In total, Snow College qualified a program-record nine wrestlers for the National Tournament.

Thompson was the Badgers' top finisher at the NJCAA National Tournament, as he finished in fourth place in the 184-pound division. Thompson entered the tournament as a seven seed and faced Davian Waite from Thaddeus Stevens College. Thompson made quick work of Waite and earned a victory via fall in just 1:39.

Thompson secured a 19-4 technical fall victory against Mouhamadou Sene of Colby College in the round of 32 to advance to the round of 16. After a tight match against 10-seeded Conner Gmahl, Thompson suffered a 12-11 loss via decision.

Thompson moved to the consolation bracket, where he earned a pair of victories via fall. The first victory came against Jovany Zuniga of Triton Community College in just 55 seconds. He then defeated Jessey Colas of NIACC via fall in 5:55.

Thompson went on to win two more matches via decision, one against two-seeded Banks Love of Western Wyoming Community College, and another via forfeit to enter the 3
rd-place matchup. Thompson was defeated via major decision, and Thompson finished in fourth place.

Marx earned an 11-1 victory against Colin Menold of Southeast Community College before suffering a 10-1 loss in the round of 32 to fall to the consolation bracket. Marx proceeded to win his next five matches in a row beginning with a 16-1 tech fall against 12-seeded Nicholas Faldetta of Camden County Community College.

Marx then earned three victories via decision: a 5-1 win against Kyle Robbins of Clackamas Community College, a 6-3 victory against 10-seeded Joseph Mattei of Nassau Community College, and an 8-6 victory against nine-seeded Dayton Bell of Fort Hays Tech.

Marx suffered a 14-4 loss, which dropped him into the 7
th-place bout. He defeated Cah'mari Johnson of Colby to finish in seventh place. Marx was also give the individual sportsmanship award, which was voted on by coaches.

In addition to the two All-Americans, one other wrestler received an additional award at the conclusion of the tournament.
Wylie Stone received the award for the most wins by fall during the tournament.

Snow College finished the season with a 14-13 overall record and a 2-1 mark within conference play. The Badgers will enter their fourth season with another full schedule next fall.
