The Snow College women's basketball team finished its season on a four-game winning streak after defeating North Idaho College 71-52 and No. 6 College of Southern Idaho 78-68 last weekend in Idaho.
The Badgers are coming off their first conference sweep of the year, defeating both Salt Lake Community College 57-45 and Colorado Northwestern Community College 94-63. They entered the final weekend of the season needing a victory against NIC to secure a spot in the Region 18 Tournament.
The Badgers opened the match against NIC slowly, as they couldn't get any shots to fall in the first five minutes.
Sydnee Smith scored their first points on a jumper with 4:32 on the clock. The Badgers amassed only eight points in the first period and entered the second quarter down 17 points.Â
The Badgers flipped the momentum in the second quarter as they went on a 14-3 run with three minutes remaining in the half. Smith would add four points, and
Avery Allred would add three to the tally in the final three minutes to cut the Cardinals' lead to 33-31 at the break.Â
The second half opened with the Badgers taking their first lead of the game off a pair of
Lala Baldwin jumpers that put them ahead 37-35. Both sides would continue trading the lead through the rest of the third period as NIC held a slight 45-42 lead heading into the final stanza.Â
The Badgers quickly traded points with NIC to make it a one-point game 1:10 into the fourth quarter. A few possessions later,
Megan Johnson would hit the Badgers' sole 3-pointer of the night to give them the lead for the final time as it sparked a 17-0 run for the Badgers over the middle minutes of the period.Â
The Cardinals would find little offense for the rest of the game as the Badgers' defense held firm to earn them their third straight victory, 71-52. The victory earned the Badgers a trip to Twin Falls, Idaho, for the Region 18 Tournament as the fourth seed.Â
Baldwin and Allred led the Badgers in scoring with 13 points apiece. Smith was one rebound shy of her first career double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds, with
Sara Aoki also chipping in 10 points.
After defeating NIC, the Badgers headed to face off against CSI for their final game of the 2025-26 regular season.Â
The Badgers opened the match against CSI hot as they burst out to a 10-4 lead inside the first four minutes of play, with the help of a pair of 3-pointers from Baldwin. They would continue to outpace the Golden Eagles to a 10-point lead at the end of the quarter.Â
