The Snow College women's soccer team traveled to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Thursday, drawing with North Idaho College 0-0, before defeating Pacific Northwest Christian College 14-0 Saturday. With the results, the Badgers move to 3-0-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Snow College created several scoring opportunities against NIC, recording 20 shots, including seven on goal, while the Cardinals recorded eight shots, four of which were on goal.
Kelsie Peterson recorded the Badgers' first shot on goal in the fifth minute, followed by Aerie Brunch in the 13th minute. Hallie Hansen added a shot on goal in the 24th minute, while Emma Glenn recorded another in the 32nd minute. Julie Huddleston recorded two shots on goal in the 43rd and 58th minutes, and Brindee Jones added another in the 72nd minute to give Snow College seven shots on goal.
NIC recorded four shots on goal, coming in the opening 30 seconds and in the 13th, 79th and 85th minutes. Neither team was able to find the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 final.
The Badgers returned to action Saturday against PNWCC, moving to a 7-0 all-time record against the Gladiators. Snow College scored nine goals in the first half, opening the scoring in the second minute when Adelle Grimley found the back of the net. Lydia Neville followed with a goal a minute later off an assist from Carly Knudsen, while Hallie Hansen added another in the sixth minute, assisted by Grimley. Madelyn Jakobson scored in the eighth minute with an assist from Kalle Jackson, while Brenna Arauzo added a goal in the 14th minute, assisted by Grimley.
Jaden Hlebasko scored in the 20th minute off an assist from Jakobson, followed by Julie Huddleston in the 35th , assisted by Hlebasko. Caliyah Wagner added a goal in the 41st minute with an assist from Macie Gustin, before Summer Long scored with just seconds remaining in the first half off an assist from Huddleston.
Snow College continued its offensive attack in the second half, adding five more goals. Jolee Irvin scored twice, both assisted by Kynna Duricic. Duricic added a goal of her own assisted by Anna Monson, before Jakobson scored on an assist by Monson. Jakobson completed her hat trick in the 61st minute with another assist from Monson.
The Badgers hit the road again Thursday, Sept. 24, traveling to Reno, Nevada, to face Truckee Meadows community college at 2 p.m. MST They then travel to Twin Falls, Idaho, Saturday to take on College of Southern Idaho at 11 a.m. For video streaming and live stats information, visit snowbadgers.com.
