(December 30, 2016) — The Snow College men's basketball team came up short against first-ranked South Plains College on Friday, falling to the Texans, 85-65, in the championship game of the seventh annual Fiesta Bowl Shootout. With the win, South Plains improves to 13-0, while the Badgers drop to 12-2 on the season.

Leading 49-36 at the half, the Texans took charge in the second half, outscoring the Badgers 36-29. Zach Hunsaker led the Badgers in scoring with 17 points, while Blake Truman followed with 16 points. Nate Bruneel also chipped in 10 points for the Badgers.

Snow College will continue play on January 5, 2017 in Twin Falls, Idaho, against College of Southern Idaho. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
