Box Score HENDERSON, Nevada (Janurary 28, 2017) — The Snow College softball team went 2-3 in their opening tournament on Friday and Saturday. Snow College lost to Yavapai, Eastern Arizona, and Arizona Western. The Badgers come home with wins over Central Arizona College and Odessa.
Carley Guymon threw two complete games in the Badgers opening tournament. The first one coming on Friday and the second coming on Saturday. Against Central Arizona, she gave up 5 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks, and 10 strikeouts through 7 innings pitched. She was helped offensively by Bailey Vigil who singled and scored Madison Parrish in the second inning, as well as Alyssa Arslanian who stole home to add the only other score of the game for the Badgers. Snow finished on top of Central Arizona by a score of 2-1.
The offense came alive for Snow as their game against Odessa featured the Badgers scoring six runs in the first inning. McCall Sperry, Sarah Sandberg, Arslanian, Dakota Gee, Makenzie Simons, and Parrish each scored during that big inning from the Lady Badgers. Arslanian went 2-4 with a double, a home run, and two stolen bases while Guymon threw another complete game with 10 strikeouts. The Badgers beat Odessa 12-10 on Saturday.
Snow College will go to battle against College of Southern Nevada in Ephraim, Utah on March 3, 2017 in their home opener at 1p.m.
