TWIN FALLS, Idaho (March 11, 2017) — The Snow College softball team came within striking distance against the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles but weren't able to finish as they lost both games 4-5 and 3-5 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Badgers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead against the Golden Eagles off of an Alyssa Arslanian single that scored McCall Stoddard.  Bailey Vigil Scored the Badgers second run of the game in the top of the second inning off of an error by CSI's second baseman to put Snow College back in the lead 2-1.  In the top of the sixth inning, Abby Kennedy crossed the plate as Torri Bills grounded out to second base, pulling the Badgers within two runs of CSI.  Sarah Sandberg homered in the top of the seventh inning to begin the final surge to overtake the Golden Eagles, but it wasn't enough as CSI held off Snow College 4-5.  Sandberg and Stoddard lead the team with 3-hits each.

The Badgers fell behind early in game two on the day as the Golden Eagles jumped ahead 4-0 in the bottom of the first inning.  The Badgers got on the board in the third inning as Arslanian singled to center field and Kennedy and Bills came across to cut the CSI lead to two.  Whitney Perkins singled in the sixth to bring home Arslanian to cut the Golden Eagles lead once again.  Arslanian lead the team with 2-RBI's as the game finished with CSI topping the Badgers 3-5.  

Snow College will play at home against Salt Lake Community College beginning on Friday March 17, 2017 at 1p.m.
