Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah (March 18, 2017) — The Snow College softball team couldn't find the offense to overtake the Salt Lake Community College Bruins on Saturday afternoon. The Bruins completed the four-game sweep of the Badgers as Snow College fell 5-1 and 10-2.
Snow College gave up four runs in the first two innings to the Lady Bruins and weren't able to come up with an answer throughout the first game of the day. The only time that the Badgers were able to string together enough hits to score a run came in the bottom of the second inning when a Sarah Sandberg ground ball scored Alyssa Arslanian to bring the score to 4-1. The Lady Badgers gave up one last run in the top of the seventh as they fell to Salt Lake 5-1. Carley Guymon pitched a complete game, giving up 7-hits and 3-earned runs while striking out 4 Bruins on the day. Arslanian and McCall Stoddard lead the team in hits, and Arslanian was the only one to cross the plate in game one of this doubleheader.
The Badgers allowed a 2-2 tie game in the fifth inning to slip away as they lost to the Lady Bruins in the final game against SLCC. Bailey Vigil hit a sacrifice fly to left field as Dakota Gee crossed the plate to tie the game at 1 in the second inning. After falling behind again in the third, AnnMarie Allred hit a line drive to right field and scored Sarah Sandberg to pull the Badgers even with the Bruins once again. Salt Lake strung together eight runs in the final two innings to complete the sweep of Snow College 10-2. Four Badgers tied with one hit each while Vigil and Allred had 1-RBI a piece to lead the team.
