Badgers Score 30 as They Take Series From Spartans 3-1

EPHRAIM, Utah (March 25, 2017) — The Snow College softball team won their first series of the season against Colorado Northwestern Community College as they went 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.  They beat the Spartans 18-4 and 14-12 in the wins.

Snow College picked up where they left off when McCall Stoddard homered to center field to tie the game at 1 in the first inning of game one.  Later in the inning, Dakota Gee grounded out but scored Torri Bills to put the Badgers ahead.  Snow College wasn't done there, as Sarah Sandberg singled to center field and scored Makenzie Simons and Alyssa Arslanian to put the Badgers ahead 4-1.  Stoddard had a four-pitch walk which scored AnnMarie Allred, and Bills hit a fly ball to center field in the next at-bat to bring home Stoddard. Simons singled to left field and scored Bills to finish off a massive first inning for the Badgers as Snow College jumped ahead 9-1.  With the bases loaded in the second inning, Bailey Vigil was hit by a pitch and Arslanian crossed the plate to add to the lead, putting the Badgers ahead 10-3.  Stoddard singled to left field two batters later which scored Sandberg.  After a five-run third inning for the Spartans, they tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning to tie the game at 11.  Sandberg homered to left field in the fourth and center field in the fifth to seal the win for the Badgers 14-12.  Sandberg lead the team with 5 RBI's while Stoddard lead the team with 4-hits.

The Badgers continued their offensive dominance as they scored five runs in the first inning, eight runs in the third inning and five runs in the fourth.  Stoddard began things in game two for Snow College as she crossed the plate on a past ball in the first to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead. Vigil was hit by a pitch to begin a third inning rally that scored Gee to give Snow College a 6-4 lead.  Madison Parrish finished the game off for the Badgers as she hit a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Sandberg and won the game for Snow College 18-4.  Sandberg lead the team with 6 RBI's.

Snow College will play in Price, Utah against USU-Eastern on March 31, 2017 at 1p.m.
