Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah (March 4, 2017) — The Snow College softball team had an amazing start to the day as Carley Guymon pitched a gem to help the Lady Badgers top the Lady Coyotes 8-0. The Lady Badgers didn't fare as well in the second game as a late surge wasn't enough to beat CSN as Snow College fell 14-11 in a high scoring affair between the two teams.
The Badgers won game one handily against CSN 8-0 on Saturday afternoon as Guymon pitched a shutout against the Coyotes, giving up two hits and striking out two batters. Snow College jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first when Alyssa Arslanian tripled to center field and Sarah Sandberg scored the first run of the game. The Badgers exploded for five runs in the second inning as Makenzie Simons, AnnMarie Allred, Bailey Vigil, McCall Stoddard, and Torri Bills crossed the plate to put the Badgers up 6-0. Dakota Gee and Simons scored in the final two innings to seal the win for the Lady Badgers. Simons lead Snow College in hitting as she went 3-3 at the plate and scored twice, while Guymon lead the Lady Badgers on the mound as she had her first shutout performance of the season.
The Badgers struggled to get things going early against CSN in game four of the four game series against the Coyotes. In the top of the fourth inning, the Badgers were down 11-3, but with strong fourth and fifth innings of play from the Badgers, Snow drew within a point of CSN with two innings left to play. The resurgent comeback by the Badgers wasn't enough as they fell to the Coyotes 14-11. Six Badgers combined for two hits each and four combined for two RBI's a piece.
Snow College will play against College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho on March 10, 2017 at 1p.m.
