Box Score PRICE, Utah (April 1, 2017) — The Snow College softball team won their second series in a row as they defeated Utah State Eastern 10-2 in game one, and lost in game two 13-5.
Snow College scored five runs in the second and third innings as they held the Golden Eagle offense to two runs in game one. The scoring began for the Badgers as Sarah Sandberg singled to the Golden Eagle shortstop and scored Alyssa Arslanian. McCall Stoddard hit a ground ball to the shortstop later in the inning that scored Madison Parrish and put Snow College ahead 4-2. The Badgers added one more run in the top of the second to finish the inning. Arslanian hit an inside the park home run in the top of the third inning to increase the Badger lead to 6-2. A Parrish triple to left field scored Dakota Gee to add another run to an increasing Badger lead. Snow College finished off their strong offensive game as Torri Bills singled to the shortstop and Stoddard crossed the plate to finish the day at 10-2. Five Badgers had two hits each to lead the team, while Bailey Vigil and Stoddard lead the team with 2-RBI's each.
The Badgers had another strong offensive game as they came up short against the Golden Eagles 13-5. Whitney Perkins got things started as the singled to bring in Parrish for the Badgers first run of the game. Gee was hit by a pitch in the third inning and brought home McKenzie Simons to bring Snow College within one run of Utah State Eastern. The Golden Eagles tacked on six runs in the next two innings before good base running scored Simons to bring the score to 9-4 in favor of USU-E. Haylie Smith doubled in the top of the fifth and Parrish crossed the plate to finish the scoring effort for Snow College. Three Badgers tied with 2-hits each, and Simons and Parrish touched home plate twice in a team leading effort.
Snow College will play away against College of Southern Nevada on April 7, 2017 at 1p.m.
