Box Score RANGELY, Colorado (April 28, 2017) — The Snow College softball team snapped a twelve game losing skid against Colorado Northwestern Community College on Friday afternoon. The Lady Badgers took game one 11-3 and lost game two 8-6.
Snow College jumped to an early lead in the first inning when Dakota Gee singled to left field, scoring Torri Bills to put the Badgers up 1-0. The Lady Badgers went down 2-1 in the third inning, but stormed back to take the lead with a six-run fifth inning. Snow College also scored two more in the sixth and finished with two runs in the seventh, capped off by Alyssa Arslanian scoring off of a passed ball. Arslanian and Gee lead the team with 3-hits each, while Gee finished her monster day at the plate with 6-RBI's.
The Lady Badgers took a 3-1 lead to begin the game as Gee hit a three-run blast in the first. Snow College tacked on three more runs in the fifth when Haylie Smith singled to score McKenzie Simons, Gee scored on a passed ball, and Whitney Perkins singled to drive in Smith. Unfortunately, the offense wasn't enough as CNCC drove in two runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the Spartans ahead 8-2. CNCC held this lead and were victorious over the Lady Badgers. Bills and McCall Stoddard lead the team with 2-hits while Gee continued her dominance at the plate with 3 RBI's.Â
Snow College will be back in Rangely, Colorado to take on Colorado Northwestern Community College on April 29, 2017 at 12p.m.
