Box Score HENDERSON, Nevada (April 8, 2017) — The Snow College softball team came up short against Southern Nevada as the Coyotes finished the sweep of the Badgers on Saturday 8-2 and 9-8.
Snow College scored their first run of the game in the top of the third when MaKenzie Simons hit a sacrifice fly that scored Whitney Perkins to bring the score to 1-2. Haylie Smith doubled in the seventh inning to bring Dakota Gee home to put the Badgers second run of the game on the board. Snow College wasn't able to catch up to the Coyotes as CSN found themselves victorious over the Badgers 8-2. Six Badgers tied with one hit while Smith and Simons finished with 1 RBI each to lead the team.
The Badgers started the scoring in game two off of an Alyssa Arslanian triple that scored Abby Kennedy and Torri Bills in the third. CSN pulled the score even at 2 before Simons doubled and scored Bills and Kylie Jeffs doubled to score Simons later in the inning. Gee singled to score Jeffs and Madison Parrish homered to finish the scoring in the fifth. The Coyotes had a five-run fifth inning to pull ahead 9-7 before a Jeffs single scored Simons to complete the scoring for the Badgers on Saturday. The Coyotes finished the game as the victors 9-8. Bills lead the team with 3-hits while three Badgers tied with 2 RBI's a piece to lead Snow College.
Snow College will face College of Southern Idaho on April 14, 2017 at 1p.m in Ephraim.
