Box Score SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (May 11, 2017) — The Snow College softball team continued their postseason play on Thursday afternoon as they eliminated Utah State-Eastern with a 3-2 victory, and had a 9-run sixth inning to upset and eliminate CNCC 10-7 to keep their conference title hopes alive.
Snow College used small ball to pick up their first run of the game as Kylie Jeffs put down a bunt which scored Dakota Gee. After the Golden Eagles tied the game in the third inning, the Badgers went ahead once again with a two-run fourth inning. AnnMarie Allred doubled to right field to score Jeffs, and Torri Bills grounded into a fielders choice with the bases loaded which scored Bailey Vigil. Snow College allowed one more run in the game, but were able to hold off USU-E for a 3-2 win. Alyssa Arslanian lead the team with two hits while Sydni Sorensen threw a 7-hit, 4-strikeout complete game.
The Lady Badgers scored one run in the second inning and gave up four runs as the Spartans took a 4-1 lead into the sixth inning of this elimination game. The sixth inning featured RBI singles by Smith, Sorensen, MaKenzie Simons, and McCall Stoddard. Stoddard's RBI single was followed by a three run blast by Bills to cap the 9-run inning by Snow College and put the Badgers in the lead 9-4. CNCC made a small surge in the final inning of play as three-runs crossed the plate, but Snow College hung on for the 10-7 victory. Bills lead the team with 3-hits, 3-RBI's, and 2-runs scored.
Snow College will play in another elimination game on May 12, 2017 at 11am against the College of Southern Idaho in Salt Lake City, Utah.
