Box Score EPHRAIM, Utah (January 18, 2018) -- After suffering two tough losses to open the Scenic West Athletic Conference season, the Snow College men's basketball team put together a solid team effort on Thursday to defeat Utah State Eastern, 76-65, to claim its first Scenic West Athletic Conference victory of the season. With the win, the Badgers improve to 11-8 on the season, while the Eagles drop to 11-9. Both teams are tied at 1-2 in the league standings.
Sophomore
Romain Boxus started the game off scoring the Badgers' first nine points of the game, and freshman Tristen Sadler scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half to help Snow take a 37-29 lead to the locker room. Kristupas Totoris's three-pointer cut the Snow lead to just four points with 5:39 remaining in the game, but that was as close as the Eagles would get.
Jake Walker and
Traycer Wilson posted back-to-back three-pointers to extend the Badgers' lead to 10 with 4:20 remaining in the game. Then Wilson's dunk with :35 seconds remaining sealed the victory for the Badgers.
Walker and Wilson led the Badgers with 17 points each on the night, followed by Sadler who racked up 15 points and Boxus who was credited with 13 points. Wilson led the roster with eight rebounds.
The Badgers will be travel to Colorado Northwestern Community College this Saturday, January 20, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
