Box Score 4 LAS VEGAS (January 27, 2018) -- The Snow College women's softball team got off to a solid start this past weekend, posting a 4-1 record at the Southern Nevada Kickoff Classic in Las Vegas.

The Lady Badgers defeated Eastern Arizona, 4-3, on Friday morning, following
Brooke Brown's walk-off, solo homerun shot in the bottom of the seventh inning to break the 3-3 tie. Snow had seven hits in the game, led by
Avery Shields and
Emily Adams who each had a pair of hits against the Gila Monsters.

In the second game on Friday, the Lady Badgers blasted three home runs throughout the game to help propel Snow to a decisive 10-5 victory over Pima. Brown picked up where she left off in the opening game, collecting her second home run in as many games. Her third-inning round-tripper over the left-field fence gave the Lady Badgers a 3-1 lead.
Sarah Sandberg collected her first home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning. Her lead-off shot to left field started a three-run inning for the Lady Badgers. Sandberg led Snow, going 3-for-4 at the plate.
Sydnie Wilson also collected her first home run of the season, driving a two RBI shot to center field to give Snow a commanding 10-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Sadie Clark was credited with the win for the Lady Badgers. The right-handed threw five and one-third innings, allowing four runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
Riley Cleverly threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

In the third and final game on Friday, the Lady Badgers scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning, and with the Mckenna Rowell representing the tying run at the plate, she went down looking to end Snow's come-back bid. The 8-6 loss to Central Arizona marked the Lady Badgers' first defeat of the season.

On Saturday, the Lady Badgers racked up six runs in the bottom of the third inning en route to a dominating 10-2 victory over Arizona Western. Shields, Sandberg,
Torri Bills and
Morgan Ashley each had two hits in the victory. Clark was credited with the victory, allowing just four hits and two runs over five innings.

In the final game of the weekend, Sorensen allowed just one run on four hits in leading the Lady Badgers to a 3-1 victory over Yavapai College. Brown went 2-for-2 at the plate and was credited with two of Snow's three runs.
