Box Score 4 HENDERSON, Nevada (March 3, 2018) -- Snow College split its conference season opening series this weekend at Southern Nevada. The whole series was a slugfest with CSN winning the first game both days by scores of 13-12 and 8-6, but Snow counter punching both days to claim tail end of the daily doubleheaders by scores of 15-10 and 13-6.
The Badgers pounded out 67 hits during the weekend, more than they have tallied in a four-game series in more than five years. Sophomore infielder
Dakota Hare went 12-for-18 in the series to raise her season batting average to .560.
Sydnie Wilson was 9-for-16 at the plate with seven RBI, and shortstop
Torri Bills finished 8-for-16 with six runs scored. Freshman
Brooke Brown was 9-for-18 with seven RBI and a homerun, her ninth round-tripper of the season. Sophomore
Haylie Smith went 5-for-10 with a pair of homers and 5 RBI to raise her batting average to .433.
This week, the 10-4 Badgers (2-2 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference) are scheduled to finally play a game at home as the Golden Eagles of Southern Idaho visit Ephraim for doubleheaders beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday. CSI is 12-6 on the season, and also 2-2 in the SWAC after splitting a series against Salt Lake Community College last week. Utah State Eastern claimed the top spot in the SWAC after the first week of play with a four-game sweep over Colorado Northwestern.
