Box Score It seemed the Snow College Badgers faced the number one team in the nation with one-hand tied behind their back with three starters out of the lineup. Snow College just couldn't keep up with the Bruins of Salt Lake Community College falling behind early and losing 94-64.
"They are a really good team," said Head Coach Rob Nielson. "I thought we played really hard and didn't give up, but we just didn't play well enough to have a chance."
Clayton Southwick, Hagen Wright, and Wyatt Lowell were all absent from the lineup with various stages of Covid Protocols. All three are starters for the Badgers and together average over 37 points per game.
"We knew we would have to have some serious help from players that normally come off the bench," said Nielson. "I think we had players step up, but that's a big hole to try and fill."
The Badgers started fast on a three-point shot by Chase Potter to start the game, but that lead was short-lived and the Bruins were then off and running, scoring 16 points off fast breaks. Potter finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Drake Allen added 14 points and three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Derrick Anderson got the start and added another nine points on 3-4 shooting.
Snow College will travel to Arizona over the Christmas Break, but will be home on January 8 to host the newest team in the Scenic West Athletic Conference Community Christian College. Gametime will be 3pm at the Horne Activity Center.
