EPHRAIM, Utah (Feb. 8, 2021) – After producing a 4-0 record this past weekend, improving to 11-1 on the season, the Snow College women's volleyball team moved up one place to the number-two position in this week's NJCAA Division-I volleyball rankings.
This week's ranking marks the 41st consecutive week—dating back to the 2016 season—the Snow College women's volleyball team has been ranked among the nation's top-20 NJCAA Division-I volleyball programs. At No. 2 this week, the Badgers have been ranked among the nation's top-10 programs in 37 of the last 41 weekly polls.
Snow College has posted a record of 11-1 this season, which includes wins over six nationally ranked teams, including No. 1 Navarro, No. 2 Seward, No. 5 Odessa, No. 6 Iowa Western, No. 9 Northeastern and No. 19 Missouri West Plains. The Badgers are currently tied with Odessa College for the most wins on the season.
Statistically, Snow College leads the nation in aces (112) and block assists (198), and ranks second in kills (608), assists (567) and total blocks (124). Sophomore outside hitter Bridgett Talia currently ranks third in the nation in total kills with 169, averaging 3.93 kills per set. Returning NJCAA All-American Lydia Montague is leading the nation with 45 block assists, and fifth in total blocks with 49. Montague is also averaging 2.41 kills per set and hitting .326 on the season. Freshman setter Macy Short ranks second in the nation with 412 assists, averaging 9.36 assists per set.
The Badgers will next travel to No. 4 Utah State Eastern (10-2) for a re-match of an early season loss to the Eagles. Game time on Wednesday, Feb. 17 is set for 6 p.m. in Price, Utah.
