LAST TIME OUT

The Snow College men's basketball team earned a dominant victory against Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday afternoon in Rangely, Co. This victory would break the Badger's four-game losing streak and was their first victory of 2023.

The Badgers entered Saturday's game coming off a tough loss on the road against Utah State University Eastern Thursday night. In that game, Snow College struggled offensively and lost 76-55. The Badgers shot a mere 14.3% from 3-point range, however they did shoot an impressive 14-20 from the free-throw line, but it would not be enough to earn them the win in Price.

Snow College was looking to break its losing streak in Saturday's game. The Badgers came out ready to play and began to build a lead against the Spartans as the first half progressed. Snow College guard Chase Potter would contribute 10 points in the first half on 4-6 shooting. He was aided by Hayden Franson who added eight points, going 2-4 from 3-point range.

The Spartans struggled offensively during the first half of play. They shot just 25.8% from the field and had 11 turnovers. The Badgers would push their lead to as much as 20 points, and closed the first half leading 39 to 19.

As the second-half commenced, Snow College continued to shine. Despite a late surge of energy from the Spartans, the Badgers would continue to push their lead. Snow College's Colin Christensen would excel as he put in 11 second-half points on perfect 4-4 shooting from the field.

Although CNCC's shooting would improve to 38.2%, the Badger's offense was too much to handle. Snow College had only two second-half turnovers which aided them in dominantly closing out the game. The Badgers would lead by as many as 29 points as they pushed on to victory. The final score was 87-63 as Snow College was triumphantly able to snap its losing streak.

In Thursday night's game against USUE, Snow College had only one player finish the game in double figures, Dylan Jones, who had 10 points. In Saturday's game however, four Badgers contributed 10 points or higher. They were led in scoring by Franson who finished with 17 points, three steals and two blocks. Christensen finished with 14 points, while Potter added 12 and Jamir Stephens added 10 points.
