- The Snow College softball team will play host to the No. 9 College of Southern Idaho in a four-game series beginning Friday in Ephraim.  This will serve as the penultimate home series of the season for the Badgers.

- Snow College is coming off a four-game sweep over the College of Southern Nevada last weekend.  The Badgers have now won seven straight and 11 of their last 12 games.

- The Badgers hit 20 home runs over the four-game series against the Coyotes.  As a team, the Badgers have hit 39 of their 69 total home runs over the last 12 games.  Snow College hit 84 total home runs during the 2023 season and is on pace to hit 87 this season.

- Andrea Sweat was at the heart of the offensive attack against the Coyotes.  She hit six of the Badgers' 20 homers while going 8-11 (.727/.786/2.455) from the plate.  With her strong performance, she was named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week; the third consecutive Badger to win the award and the fourth this season.

- With the recent surge in homers, the Badgers have climbed into the top 10 in home runs in the nation.  They rank 10th in four-baggers overall.  They are also sixth in the country in extra-base hits, 11th in doubles, and 16th in triples.

- Snow College also ranks among the best teams in the country in another pair of hitting categories.  They are currently 24th overall in batting average at .370 and 10th in the nation in slugging percentage at .646.

- Kamryn Allen hit four home runs against the Coyotes and leads the team with 14 so far this season.  Her 14 home runs place her among the best hitters in the country landing at 25th overall.

- The series with the Golden Eagles is shaping up to be a slugfest as CSI is also one of the best power-hitting teams in the country.  CSI is fourth in the country with 79 home runs this season.  The Golden Eagles have two players inside the top 25 in total homers; Courtney Christiansen and Tessa Hokanson are both tied at 16th overall with 16 homers each.

- The Badgers are 28-90 overall against the Golden Eagles since 2010 including a 15-36 record in Ephraim.  Snow College went 1-3 against CSI in the earlier meeting between these two teams this season.  The Badgers are 3-7 against them in their last 10 meetings.

UP NEXT: The Badgers will wrap up their long 20-game home stand and conclude their home slate of games against No. 6 Salt Lake Community College.  The Bruins are 32-7 overall this season and 24-4 within conference play.  They swept the Badgers when the two teams met back in March.  The series will begin Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Saturday's doubleheader scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.  For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.

LAST TIME OUT: The Snow College softball team earned a four-game sweep against the College of Southern Nevada over the weekend in Ephraim.  With the wins, the Badgers have officially secured a berth into the Scenic West Athletic Conference Tournament following the regular season.

The Badgers entered the weekend following taking three out of four games against Utah State University Eastern last week.  Following the wins,
Ayden Fitch was named the SWAC Player of the Week after going 6-14 at the plate with three home runs and eight RBIs.

The Badgers wasted no time in taking the lead on a wild pitch in game one of the series.  They added another run on a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 advantage in the first inning. Â
Hallie Young led off the second inning with a home run down the left-field line – the first of 20 total homers the Badgers would hit in this series.Â

Andrea Sweat blew the game open for the Badgers as she smacked a three-run home run to dead center. Snow College nearly followed a similar suit in the third inning.  Young again plated the first run with a home run to center field. Â
Tasia Shibuya and Sweat both hit two-run homers to take an 11-0 lead.  Shibuya added another run with an RBI single in the fourth before the Badgers claimed a 12-1 victory.

Kamryn Allen single plated the first run of game two as Snow College took a 1-0 lead.  CSN leveled the game in the third inning before Sweat and Allen hit back-to-back homers in the bottom of the inning to reclaim a 4-1 lead.

The Coyotes once again tied the game in the top of the fourth inning, but the Badgers rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fourth.  A triple from
Hadlee Walker scored the first run before Allen drove three more home on a home run to right center field.

Young drove home the final two runs of the game for the Badgers.  The first one came on a homer in the fifth inning and the second on a single that stayed fair down the left-field line to plate
Haddie Hadley.  The Badgers would hold on to win, 10-5.

Game three of the series would prove to be a slugfest between the two teams.  A total of 30 runs and 36 hits were recorded between both teams.  CSN scored four runs in the first inning and the Badgers matched the four runs in the bottom of the inning.

A single and a walk set the table for the Badgers. Â
Ayden Fitch drove home Shibuya before Sweat cleared the bases with a homer to left field tying the game at four.  Following three runs from the Coyotes in the second inning, Snow College put up four more runs in the bottom of the inning.

Sweat and Allen once again went back-to-back for the second time in the series.  After a single and a stolen base from Walker, Fitch single to score the first run of the inning.  Sweat then drove home Fitch on a homer to center field and Allen followed with a four-bagger that snuck inside the foul pole to give the Badgers a one-run lead.

The Coyotes wouldn't go away though, as they scored four more runs in the third.  Snow College once again responded and plated five in the bottom of the inning.  It was a pair of homers that turned the tables as Fitch blasted a three-run shot before another Allen homer drove home two more giving the Badgers a 13-11 advantage.

CSN was held scoreless in the fourth and
McCall Maxfield added a run with a homer in the bottom of the inning.  Maxfield would strike again with another home run in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 16-12.  CSN scored a pair of runs in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as the Badgers earned the 16-14 victory.

The Badgers secured the sweep in game four as they scored all 11 runs in the first four innings.  Walker hit a two-run homer to start the game in the first.  A CSN sacrifice fly cut the deficit in half before Snow College scored five runs in the second inning.  Young led off the inning with a homer before a Shibuya double scored another run.  Three straight singles from Fitch, Sweat, and Allen drove home three more runs to extend the lead to 7-1.

Snow College went back-to-back for the third time during the series – this time from Fitch and Sweat. Â
Brenley Boydston singled in a run later in the inning to drive in a run as the Badgers scored four to earn the 11-1 victory.

Allen and Sweat had their way with the Coyotes over the four games.  Allen went 10-12 (.833/.786/2.167) from the plate with four homers, 11 RBIs, and four doubles.  Sweat was 8-11 (.727/.786/2.455) with six home runs, 13 RBIs, and scored nine runs over the four games.  As a team, the Badgers hit .504 from the plate, scored 49 runs, and hit 34 extra-base hits.
