Ema Thompson of the Snow College volleyball team has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the Conference announced Monday.
 
The announcement comes after the Badgers earned a 3-1 victory against No. 7 Utah State University Eastern last weekend in Price. This is Snow College's first victory against the Eagles in Price since Oct. 12, 2019.
 
Thompson played a key role in the Badgers' second victory against a ranked team this season. She recorded her fifth double-double of the season and finished with 16 assists and 12 digs in the win over the Eagles.
 
Thompson, a freshman from Layton, Utah, has played in all 18 games for the Badgers this season. She has played in 63 of the Badgers' 64 total sets throughout the year, which leads the team.
 
Thompson has compiled 455 total assists, which is second within the conference and ranks 37^th overall in the nation. It's the most assists a freshman has recorded in a season since Ellee Anderson recorded 1,132 assists during the 2019 season, which is the single-season program record.
