Snow College men's basketball Head Coach Andrew May has announced the signing of Makai Allen, a 6'2 guard from Provo, UT.

"Makai is a dynamic, fast, and strong player," May said. "Makai has excellent quickness and explosiveness for his position. Makai has been coached well by Chris Collinsworth at Provo High School and in AAU with Dalton Nixon of the Utah Gold. He can score the ball at all three levels and gets to the foul line consistently. Makai's ability to go by his defender and cause defensive rotations is unique. He also has great lateral quickness to be able to guard the ball and has the work ethic and character to continue to grow, which fits us well. We welcome Makai to the Snow Badger family."

Allen prepped at Provo High School, where he, as a junior, was first team all-state in the Deseret News. He was also named the Max Preps 4A Player of the Year and was second in 4A in scoring, where he averaged 21.4 points per game, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals as a junior. Allen also shot 36% from 3 and 80% from the foul line.

"I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of Snow College men's basketball," Allen said. Coach May and the rest of the coaching staff are committed to building good players and great men. Snow College has established itself as the top NJCAA basketball program in the country, and I am honored to be a part of its winning culture. I am eager to learn from the coaches and teammates, and look forward to growing as a player and a person to achieve our goals next year."
