Women’s Soccer Faces No. 5 IWCC, No. 11 IHCC

OPENING KICKOFF: The Snow College women's soccer team heads to Ottumwa, Iowa, to compete in the IHCC Classic. The Badgers will face No. 5 Iowa Western Community College Thursday at 3:00 p.m. and No. 11 Indian Hills Community College Saturday at 10:00 a.m. MST

LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers finished the 2025 season with a 13-4-3 overall record and a 9-2-3 mark within Scenic West Athletic Conference play, scoring 52 goals across 18 games. The Badgers also claimed their fourth Region 18 Championship in program history after defeating Utah State University Eastern 1-0 in double overtime and Salt Lake Community College 1-0 in the title game.

Besides falling to Cochise College in the West District Championship, the Badgers are coming off momentum from the second half of the 2025 season. They had a six-game winning streak before the district championship, where they surrendered a second-half goal and suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Apaches.

ROSTER: The Snow College team consists of 30 players, with 19 incoming freshmen and 11 returning sophomores. Five players are from out of state, including Idaho, Washington, Nevada and Arizona.

The Badgers' goalkeepers this season are freshmen Caroline Penrod and Tess Peterson.

The top two goal scorers from last season have moved on, together contributing 18 goals. Brenna Arauzo and Halle Hansen were the next two top goal scorers,  contributing a combined  nine goals.

Returning sophomore Kelsie Peterson was named to the SWAC All-Conference First Team. She played in all 19 games for the Badgers during the 2025 season, recording two goals and four assists.

Brindee Jones received Third Team honors recording one goal and one assist as a defender. Both Peterson and Jones were named to the Region 18 All-Tournament Team.

ON THE SIDELINES: Head coach Brock Ogami will enter his fourth season overseeing the Badgers. Over his three full seasons, he has compiled a 37-12-6 overall record and a 27-7-6 mark within SWAC play. His teams have played in the Region 18 Title game in all three seasons. Alongside Ogami, Matthew Ayres enters his first season as an assistant coach.

KNOW YOUR FOE: The Badgers hold a 2-0 all-time record against IWCC. The last time these teams met was in 2021, when Snow College earned the win in penalty kicks. The Badgers also defeated IWCC 2-1 in 2018.

The Reivers most recently won their match 7-0 to Illinois Central College Aug. 20, before defeating Casper College 1-0 Aug. 22.IWCC finished last season with a 16-2-5 record and claimed their sixth straight Central District title.

IHCC will enter Saturday's match after tying Casper College 1-1 Aug. 20 and defeating ICC 4-1Aug. 22.Last season, the Warriors scored 61 goals across 17 games and went 13-3-1. When they faced the Reivers, they lost 6-3.

This matchup between Indian Hills and the Badgers will mark the first meeting between the two programs.
